ALLOY600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with the following characteristics: 

• Good resistance to oxidation, carburization, and nitridation 
• Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking at room and elevated temperatures 
• Good resistance to dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride 
• Good mechanical properties at freezing, room, and elevated temperatures

ALLOY600 has a controlled carbon content and, except for strips, a coarse grain size that gives it high creep rupture properties, and is therefore recommended for use at temperatures above 700°C (1290°F).
