Beryllium copper is a copper alloy with 0.5 to 3% beryllium (Be) added to copper, and boasts the highest hardness among copper alloys. It has excellent corrosion resistance and strength, and is used in a wide range of fields such as welding machine parts and electrodes.
The main beryllium copper used for machining includes BeCu25 and BeCu50.
Characteristics of beryllium copper:
Difference between BeCu 25 (C1720) and BeCu 50
The difference between the two is the beryllium content. BeCu25 has a high beryllium content and is strong, while BeCu 50 has a low beryllium content and is highly conductive.
BeCu 50
BeCu 50 is classified as a low beryllium copper alloy and contains less than 1.0% beryllium. In addition to high conductivity, it is a material that has sufficient mechanical functions. (There is a similar material in JIS Z 3234 as an electrode material for resistance welding, but the chemical composition has not been confirmed.)
