ALLOY625 is a low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy with excellent resistance to a wide variety of corrosive media. Due to its low carbon content and stabilizing heat treatment, ALLOY625 shows little tendency to sensitize after 50 hours at temperatures between 650 and 900°C (1200 and 1650°F). The alloy is supplied in a soft-annealed condition for applications where wet corrosion may occur. It is also TÜV approved for pressure vessels at service temperatures between -196 and 450°C (-321 and 840°F). For high-temperature applications above about 600°C (≒1100°F), where high strength and resistance to creep and rupture are required, higher carbon content and solution-annealed versions are usually used. The mechanical properties of ALLOY625 can be slightly increased by age hardening.
